Megan had to work on Friday, so she sent us to Disneyland. She got us FREE tickets through her work that let us in to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
We first went to the adventure park and toured through "a bug's land". Hoss HATED it, very much. He was so scared that he started shaking and then screamed. So we took him to the bumper cars hoping that would help calm him down. It worked.

Then he "lost his energy", so we had to find some lunch. After we ate, we headed over to Disneyland because all he wanted to see was Eeyore. We saw Lightning McQueen and Mater, and he wanted nothing to do with any of them, only Eeyore.
When we first walked in, we saw Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, so we started getting pictures.

Remember, Hoss wanted nothing to do with ANY of these Characters.

If you notice in this family picture with Mickey, Hoss has a huge frown. Brandon knelt down in front and Hoss lost it, so he had to be as far away as possible.

When we got in line for Mickey, the worker told us that the line was closed because they had to leave for the parade. So, Brandon said, ok, and started to leave. Well, the lady told him to get in line because he was nice. Then as we waited I understood what she was talking about. Everyone after us that she turned away, was so rude and demanding that they needed to get a picture, etc. She said she doesn't get very many nice people so when we were fine with just leaving, she felt bad and let us stay. I guess it pays to be nice. :) But we did miss Minnie.
The worker also told us that if we wanted to see Eeyore that we better hurry because they were closing "Critter Country" in an hour. So as soon as we got done with Mickey we ran, literally ran to find Eeyore. I mean that was the ONLY person Hoss wanted to see the entire trip. (Other than Aunt Megan)

Duke did such a wonderful job waiting while we stood in line for Eeyore. The line started with Tigger, then Eeyore and finally Pooh. Well, again, Hoss didn't want anything to do with anyone but Eeyore, so we apologized to Tigger and just walked on past to Eeyore. See how happy he was when we finally got there?

We got lucky, because they again closed the line right behind us. Apparently Eeyore had some spell on Hoss because he was actually willing to pose with Pooh afterwards.

Once we finally saw the Characters, Lilli and Brandon went to get Fast Pass tickets for Splash Mountain. The lines for everything were sooooo long. There was no school down there that day, so I think EVERYONE headed for Disneyland. Or maybe it's just the fact that we are small town folk, so it just seemed like the world was all there at once.
Lilli really wanted her face painted so we looked everywhere and finally found a spot. She chose a Unicorn.

Then it was time for her and Brandon to use their fast pass tickets. So, while they headed that direction, Hoss, Duke and I headed for Mickey's Toontown.

Hoss waited in line 50 minutes for the Roger Rabbit ride and did amazing. He just walked through patiently with his hands in his pockets while kids twice his age whined and begged and through fits. I was a very proud Mom at that point.
After the ride, we headed over to check out Mickey's house, Minnie's house, Goofy's house and Chip & Dale's tree house. By then, Brandon and Lilli found us and Lilli's $17 face paint job was gone. *Note to self, don't get your face painted until AFTER the wet rides, or else you are just wasting money.
Everything was closing so we just started walking around looking at things. The Castle is gorgeous at night. We didn't see any Princesses, but Lilli and I did walk through Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

After dinner it started getting CRAZY, so we started to leave. People came out of nowhere waiting for the night light show and fireworks. It took forever to get out of there, and Duke started screaming. When we finally got out of the park, I was sooo happy. Maybe Disneyland isn't for me, or maybe we need to plan better. We've heard that you should go on a weekday, during the winter. If we ever go again, maybe we'll try that. But, since it was free, I'm not complaining one little bit. We probably wouldn't have gone if we didn't get the tickets, so it really was worth it.
On the drive back to Megan's we decided to check out the Los Angeles Temple. It was HUGE, not at all what I was expecting.

But oh so gorgeous.

So then I wanted to see what it would look like in the daylight, so I found this picture.

I can't believe how tall the palm trees are. As tall as the building, and it was massive.

Yeah for free tickets!!! I have a very hard time waiting in line (forever) for places. That is one reason why I have only taken my kids to 6 Flags (Elitch's) once! Sounds like you guys had fun and good thing Hoss was able to see Eeyore.
What a fun vacation!!!
